Sona Mobile Debuts mWager Mobile Gambling Application

On February 5th, 2009, SonaMobile continues its profitable association with the US horseracing industry this week with the debut of its mWager mobile gambling application. The facility is fully integrated with the Scientific Games' Trackplay betting platform for New Jersey Account Betting LLC and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which have agreements with Pennwood Racing LLC for telephone and account betting services to the residents of the state of New Jersey.

mWager will extend the online wagering facilities offered to New Jersey Account Betting's players, making bets with the help of mobile phones and Personal Digital Assistants possible. Online betting on horse races is allowed in the US, thanks to the exemptions from the UIGEA. The debut comes only 5 months after Sona's announced that it had finalized an agreement with Scientific Games Racing LLC to make the mWager mobile betting platform in North America in the last 4 months. Sona Mobile will get a percentage of each bet transacted via the mWager mobile gaming application in New Jersey.

Utilizing mWager, MJAW Mobile will initially debut on Blackberry and iPhone devices and will follow in the next few weeks with PocketPC, Smartphone and browser-based (WAP) gaming offerings. The Senior Vice President of Racing for New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, Lennon Register said that they are very happy to be in an interesting group of racing jurisdictions to be live with mobile betting.

Donald R. Codey, a senior executive of Freehold Raceway and a board member of New Jersey Account Wagering said that Sona's mWager mobile gaming application was picked to give their customers additional gaming services through the convenience of putting a bet when they are not home and even at the racing track on their own mobile phone and PDA's.
